I have just finished reading this newly updated version and it that same beautiful story that I loved before with some subtle changes. (Nothing major).
I love this story for so many reasons. I love that it takes such a broken person and shows how the truth of God's live can heal and transform.
I loved seeing Salmone grow and change. He can be a bit of a bear at times, but I loved how his character grew into the person Rahab needed.
I loved that this books focus on healing and how to find the value of a person regardless of their past.
A powerful timeless tale.
Masterfully written, achingly beautiful glimpse into how life might have been for that courageous woman of the Bible, Rahab. Though not a light read, definitely a worthwhile read for a mature audience. A stunning work of redemptive Christian fiction!

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
