Hadley Beckett's next dish

I have always grabbed a Bethany Turner book expecting a lighthearted funny romance with a great message. I really liked all the food! Its books like these that make me want to cook (and eat)! Seriously I could go for Max's Chicken wraps right now! I really love the hate/love trope and this one definitely was a good embodiment of one of my all time favorite tropes. Bethany Turner's characters always come to life for me and Hadley and Max are no exception, they are well developed, they have depth and flaws and I loved rooting for them. Perhaps it was because of what was going on in my personal life at the time, but I didn't find this one humorous like her previous two. This book was unique for a couple reasons.  #1 I found this book to be more of a contemporary romance than a Rom-com. There was light and humorous moments, but it was more about the story than the comedy. (Again,  this could just be me, I was in a real low spot when I read it). #2 I found this book to be much l

A Date for Daisy

Image
Are you looking  for an adorable story about a close knit family in a small town? Check this series out! The Bloom family is finding their way into my heart. I really enjoyed the opportunities attract trope you are in for a treat with the fireworks between Daisy and Lance. These two are complete polar opposite, yet I really enjoyed seeing their journey. Their story is pretty cute!  Like straight out of a Hallmark movie. I really enjoyed how each story is dovetailed into the each other starting with the novella Hoping for Hawthorne and we get a glimpse of what is to come in the next story.

do you like novellas ?

Read any good novellas lately? I admit that I am unashamedly on a novella reading spree to give myself the feeling of being able to finish more books😏. . . . . . .

Stay with me by Becky wade

Image
Becky wade is the contemporary author that I keep on coming back to for stories that are romantic, characters that are realistic and relatable and a message that is seamlessly  woven into the story. Stay with me is definitely one of those stories.  Becky wade has once again crafted a beautiful story around some tough topics. Some of these topics are bit out of the norm from what is found in a contemporary romance.  Sam and Genevieve's story is quite touching, so well written and brings you through the range of emotions.   My one tiny complaint. I am disheartened to see so many Christians participating in Halloween. I understand that some don't hold the same view. It didn't detract too much from the story, it just bugs me personally. I can't say too much without wandering into spoiler territory, but I truly hope that this book reaches out to many who have the same struggles as these characters, and I hope that it starts some conversations that need to happen. That is one

Storing up trouble by Jen Turano

Image
Jen Turano is the queen of quirky characters that sweep you away in whimsical, hilarious adventures! Storing up trouble is a new on my list of favorite Jen Turano books! The two main characters are complete opposites and get off on the wrong foot from the beginning.  I love that! This is the beginning of a truly enchanting story! Full of witty comebacks, sassy characters and a touch of peril  this final book in the series is not to be missed! Mini rant- I am finding the constant talk of women's rights issues and unequal pay talk incredibly redundant in historical fiction lately. If you spend any amount of time in the genre you are aware of the difference in time, and the challenges they faced. I actually found it ironic that one of the pay issues was linked to men more commonly treating marketing and retail as a career choice not a hobby or side hustle. Then the female lead takes a job with no plans for it being her lifelong career and still she was complaining about her pay. That

Carolina breeeze by Denise hunter

Absolutely delightful! I must say that out of these siblings,  was looking forward to Levi's story the most, and I think it will be my favorite! I really identified with the oldest of the siblings. That feeling of responsibility, that desire to protect and shelter they younger siblings is strong. Levi has all those qualities that drive his little sisters crazy! But I get it. I really adored the relationship between him and Mia. Sometimes fictional romances get hung up over silly misunderstandings that should be simply talked out. I didn't get that from Levi and Mia's relationship at all. I liked how steadily the relationship between them progressed. It was filled with so many cute, sweet, and swoon worthy moments! There was conflict to overcome and growth that needed to happen for both of them, and I really enjoyed seeing their journey. This book is the perfect summer escape read! If you are chilling by the pool, lake, beach or wherever you are, take a trip to the BlueRidge

the Queen by Steven James

While I don't think this book was nearly as suspenseful as the other books it appears to set up key players for the series finale. To be honest I was pretty tired of Pat dragging his feet between Cheyenne and Lein Hua. I was completely annoyed with being introduced to another former flame. Get with it Pat! Tessa once again was the perfect relief for the story, she is growing up and I would love to see her in her own series as an investigator of some sort! I love her sarcasm, her wit and her growth. I am a bit nervous about the next book (content wise), but I do want to finish the series.

Heartless by Tamara Leigh

Image
Oh my! I don't know how Tamara Leigh does it, but she has done it once again! She has crafted a tale of intrigue, romance, adventure and forgiveness. This book is a bit different from the previous three, but a wonderful tale in its own right. If you know me at all you know how addicted to sword fighting I am, while this book didn't have as much of that type of action the author used situations and other kinds of trouble to keep the tension going through the entire book. Oh, and that ending!!!!!!!!!!! Squeeeeeeeee! I actually teared up and cried! So beautiful! My Wulfrith loving heart is so happy! On thing I love about her books is how well she crafts the enemies to lovers trope. She develops the characters so gradually that you don't realize how much has changed until you think back to the beginning of the book and marvel over how far these characters have come! Simply exquisite! While I have ARC deadline books to read I clear my schedule for a Tamara Leigh book! And once a
