Can't Buy Me Love

This book was another great trip back to Deep Haven! I loved the type of Cinderella type twist this story had, loved the banter between the two main characters. This book has that fun element in a contemporary that is exactly what pulls me in. The awkward "oh no!" scenes, the playful flirty scenes,  the obstacles that you get to see the characters work through.    This book was just a delight to read, I loved the on page chemistry that the two main characters had.  I loved the way the author drew me in and allowed me to escape to my favorite fictional town. And while it was fun it had depth and a great message woven into it! I recieved a copy of this book from the publisher.  All thoughts and opinions in this review are honest and completely my own.

This debut author brings a special something to the world of Biblical Fiction! I had the pleasure of being a beta reader a year ago and I was so excited to be able to be on the launch team as well. I truly believe that this author brings a sweetness to Biblical fiction that it is hard to describe.  These characters have become vivid to me and I have loved seeing the passion week through their eyes. This story has a even moderate pace that slowly allows you to get to know the characters and then brings you to a climax that has forever changed the world.  I love seeing real Biblical events through the eyes of everyday people.  Shamira is a very strong character that I wasn't sure if I would like right away,  but I came to enjoy seeing her grow and mature.  I really liked how loyal and protective she was of the ones she loved.  I really liked how this book had the unique angle of someone coming out of a loving home life. Often in BF you see characters come from very dysfunctional or a

This book inspired me to write the review in poem form....here goes: A tale of seeing what others deem invisible, A story of Darkness near,  A story of finding your way  A character who some may see themselves in, a heroin seeking one thing and finding another. Grasp ahold of destiny,  learn to embrace who you are, You are now a part of something bigger.  An enemy that is powerful and relentless,  it leaves you giving shadows a second glance.   A portion of me wonders.... is this fantasy I am reading or reality with a different garment on. Sometimes it is the truth concealed in fiction that speaks the loudest. Highly recommended for lovers of YA fantasy with a supernatural twist.

Okay,  well, that was interesting! I have only read a few Science fiction books yet this book easily pulled me into this world.   I really enjoyed how fast paced the story felt. At parts I was a bit thrown in the transitions, but I adapted as I got used to the author's style. This book explores issues that are present in our time such as honesty,  freewill and deception. Yet putting it in a high tech science fiction world allows you to really explore the seriousness of truth and the value as well.  This book had a mind bending twist that I did not see coming and left me scrabbling to keep up! I really thought I had it figured out! Sometimes the flashbacks slowed the story a tad, but I really appreciated how easy to read this was. I enjoy a story that can suprise me and one that makes me think about relevant things.  I recieved a copy of this book from the publisher,  all opinions and comments are my own and honest.
