Blood from a Stone

Let me catch my breath.   My reviews may seem a bit repetitive.  Yet each installment has sent me on the rollercoaster of emotions and tension and suspense! Yes I love this series and I feel like the stakes are raised with each book in this series.  The cliffhangers get more intense with each book, yet I am so invested with these characters that I eagerly wait for the moment I can get my hands on the next one.  The suspense is there, the moments that pull the heartstrings and moments of humor that perfectly balance all the intense moments.  It is the perfect balance of all things I love. This book sets up the series for what I anticipate to be a killer of a climax.  I am trying not to spoil anything,  because so much is at stake in this book that , I am just dying! Ahhhhhh! If you are looking for a series, full of twists,  a great cast of characters and tight writing, I highly recommend this series.  I recieved a complementary copy of th...

Haunting at bonaventure circus by Jaime jo Wright

Jaime jo Wright does it again! She crafts tales that make you want to cozy up and devour, and she weaves in the spooky feels, with great characters and depth.  She has truly made me enjoy timesplit novels! She develops both timeliness so well and then tries them together in the end with I twist that I never see coming! This book took be a little longer to get into, but once I was able to sit down and seriously read it I was whisked away by the story.  And the ending had me flipping pages as fast as I could. I was a little confused aboout how the author left some points hanging on what was supernatural or not. The faith message is a bit on the lighter side in this book, but there are great nuggets of truth in this story.

Jamie Jo sure knows how to weave a story! I still enjoyed Foster Hill the most but this story has that trademark mystery with a good dose of creepy, that is unique to this author. I really enjoyed the time split aspect of the story and the author built up the story very well in both time periods. I haven't always loved split time books, but I think that they are growing on me. I kept on getting interrupted and sidetracked while reading this story, and that annoyed me, because I lost my reading momentum a few times. That last 100 pages really took off! I really appreciate the compassion and honesty that the author took in the topic of mental illness.  I absolutely loved the twists in the end!!! Very well done. I would have liked a touch more romance in the story, but it didn't detract from the story. All, in all a great book.
