The London Restoration

This book was a book had a lyrical flow that had me looking up pictures of the bombed churches of London and admiring the resilience of the human spirit. 
This book absorbed me into the tale, I really felt like I was there admiring the history and architecture of houses of worship while getting to see a love story that is fighting to weather the scars of war.
One thing that I absolutely adored was the deep love and devotion that the two main characters had for each other,  even though they struggled with coming back and how the war had changed both of them, they were resolved to fight for each other. 
I do not see that kind of stories much, with already married couples and it was a real treat. 
I listened to the audiobook on this one and I am really glad I did,  the narrator's accent helped me to feel more absorbed into this tale set mostly in London.
I think the only thing that I wished more for was a bit of a spiritual message woven into it. Theology and churches were discussed,  yet it didn't seem to be a huge part of the character's personal life. 
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a historical glimpse into the time after WW2.
It has a touch of danger as well!

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

To Believe in You

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
