Jerusalem's Daughter
This debut author brings a special something to the world of Biblical Fiction!
I had the pleasure of being a beta reader a year ago and I was so excited to be able to be on the launch team as well. I truly believe that this author brings a sweetness to Biblical fiction that it is hard to describe. These characters have become vivid to me and I have loved seeing the passion week through their eyes.
This story has a even moderate pace that slowly allows you to get to know the characters and then brings you to a climax that has forever changed the world.
I love seeing real Biblical events through the eyes of everyday people.
Shamira is a very strong character that I wasn't sure if I would like right away, but I came to enjoy seeing her grow and mature. I really liked how loyal and protective she was of the ones she loved.
I really liked how this book had the unique angle of someone coming out of a loving home life. Often in BF you see characters come from very dysfunctional or abusive family relationships. This book had that sweet, close, family that was a breath of fresh air!
And there is Asa, I have always been a fan of his character. He is so sweet, so sensitive that he perfectly balances Shamira.
I enjoy seeing the events of the passion week through a character in his position.
His growth and journey is my favorite in this story.
The scenes of the crucifixion are very well written, they are not graphic, yet powerful enough to give me goosebumps.
I love how this book is the kind of book I can give to my teenage sister with no hesitation.
Some BF is heavier in adult themes and I value how this book is one that carries a different tone.
4 stars !
