Operation Grendel

Okay,  well, that was interesting!
I have only read a few Science fiction books yet this book easily pulled me into this world.  
I really enjoyed how fast paced the story felt. At parts I was a bit thrown in the transitions, but I adapted as I got used to the author's style.
This book explores issues that are present in our time such as honesty,  freewill and deception. Yet putting it in a high tech science fiction world allows you to really explore the seriousness of truth and the value as well. 
This book had a mind bending twist that I did not see coming and left me scrabbling to keep up! I really thought I had it figured out! Sometimes the flashbacks slowed the story a tad, but I really appreciated how easy to read this was.
I enjoy a story that can suprise me and one that makes me think about relevant things. 

I recieved a copy of this book from the publisher,  all opinions and comments are my own and honest.

Wow! Though not my average type of read, this book sucked me in for a wild ride that was filled with deep thought provoking points. The Sy-Fi angle was different, but I rolled with it and Jordan became my favorite character! What I liked about this story the most was the way we got to explore what it means to be a human. We explore topics of pain, eternity, free will and many more. The one negative thing I will say is how the main character is a female head pastor. The Bible says women are not supposed to be Elders and Pastors, yet this character is "called" to be a pastor? Sorry, I had to take off a star for that. Maybe it was a type of reflection of the society of this futuristic world, I don't know. Other than that I found myself fully engaged in this futuristic/dystopian world! Wow! This book has me so hooked on this world and the the complicated situations that the characters are in. It took be a little bit to get into. There are quite a few characters that I was wondering how they fit together. But it did come together in a way that was well woven and I just neeeeeed to know what happens next! One thing that I find really intriguing is the way the faith system is explained. I really appreciated the contrast best The battle between light and dark and how the truths shared can be paralleled with our world. I loved how even the characters who are on the "dark side" are complex and multilayered. They have motives and reasons for why they have made the choices they have. I don't often become so invested in morally grey characters. But boy. I am invested. Can't wait for book 2!
