On the Wings of Devotion

This book was absolutely perfect!
I love a good brooding hero with a past. Cam is all that and a bag of chips!
I loved the heroine of this books too. Arabella was so sweet, and genuine.
I loved how her faith played into the story, it felt real and she was so relatable.
I loved how gradually the romance progressed, you knew what was coming, but it grew at a really believable rate for who the characters were. And it has some truly great romantic moments!
All the hype I heard is true!
I loved the bit of suspense woven into the story, I loved the redemption, I loved it!
Part of me is mad I waited so long, then another part is happy I saved it for a time I needed this kind of story!

This is a great book!

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
