my top heroes of 2019

Let's talk favorite heroes of 2019!
This was so hard to narrow down to just 5 books!
These books contained had my top heroes of this year.

Zach Hamilton- More than words can say
I had my eye on him since the first book in the series and I just loved him in this book. The tough guy who finds someone who softens him up *sigh*

Malakhi - until the mountains fall 
For me Malakhi stole my heart with everything that he went through and remained such a faithful character. I really enjoyed watching him grow and become the man who was an amazing hero.

Leif Metcalf - Storm Rising
How can he not be in my top 5?
He is protective, dedicated and loyal. Totally awesome hero with a few mysterious abilities thrown in. I loved his determination to  fight for what's right. Absolutely one of my favorite Kendig heroes of all time! I am soooo #teamrunt

Ford 
Well actually I cheated and am going to pick Ford and York, since they are both in this book!
I loved Ford's dedication once he set out to do something, I loved how he was such a stand up guy for Scarlett. I just loved how he always wanted to do the right thing, even when it was hard.
York was an amazing hero to watch through the series. He was wounded and a bit haunted by his past, but you got to see his growth as a character and how faith changed him and delivered him.

Dougray - Nameless
Oh.my...... Tamara Leigh has outdone herself with this hero. A wounded warrior who we have seen struggle against injustice and cruelty since Merciless, his story has finally been told.
I loved his depth of character, and depth of his faith. This hero faced pain both physically and emotionally and came out so strong, you just can't help but cheer for him!

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

To Believe in You

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
