The second installment of the Breed Apart Legacy brings action, intrigue and romance.


This book opens with so much of the classic things you come to expect from a Ronie Kendig story. 

The characters are sharp, layered and complex.

The canine character (Chaos) is a focal part of the story and I really enjoyed seeing this threesome overcome the difficulties ahead of  them.

The hero really stood out to me. I always enjoy the “warrior type” hero and Cathal was that multi-layered hero with a past that pulled me into the story.

Rio is the heroine in this story and she was unique and layered in her own way. I loved the banter between her and Cathal.

This story had a mystery and a situation where they were working against the clock and the elements to mount a rescue.

A fascinating setting in the Philippines that makes this a great read to have the fast pace of romantic suspense in an exotic location.

If you are looking for a fast paced read with action, romance and immersive locations give A Breed Apart:Legacy a try.

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

To Believe in You

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
