the Vanishing at Castle Moreau

Jaime jo Wright once again crafts a mystery in a spooky setting with twists and false clues to leave you guessing.
I always appreciate her tight writing style in spit time and the way she weaves them together. 
This book is a great one to start with if you don't know how much creepy you can take. I found it not as scary as some of her other books.
They mystery was good and many layers to it. I was kinda expecting a different twist to come that didn't (that is usually what happens in her books for me).
I kinda guessed at what was going on and I was right.
The characters are well drawn and layered and I enjoyed it.
The faith thread is a bit lighter then some of her other books.
If you are looking for a mystery set in a gothic feel this may be one for you.

Undercurrent of Secrets

Okay this is officially my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet! This book is a split time that is so well balanced between the past and the present. I loved the light thread of mystery and the contemporary just was so good. I loved the romance in both time periods. There were some absolutely adorable and swoony scenes in both that just was my favorite parts of this book. I loved the setting of the riverboat! So interesting how the author used an actual boat for the setting and so you get that peek into the lives of people who lived the riverboat life. If you want to feel transported grab this one, it's a gem. Thanks to Netgally I received a complementary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are honest and my own.

To Believe in You

I had seen this author's books floating around on Instagram and jumped at the chance to grab one on Netgally. Yes, I started with the last book in the series. It in no way lessened my enjoyment of this beautiful story. I love stories of people who get second chances. I love the opposites attract trope. And I love a strong redemption arc. This book had all of that. The author crafters characters that have their own flaws and struggles. I loved the hero. Though wounded and scarred from his past mistakes, he was lovable and I couldn't help but root for him. I loved his protective nature as well. Always here for the protective hero. The heroine is the opposite of him in many ways, and yet she was so relatable to a fellow rule abider like myself. I loved the way each character had to work through their struggles.
