To Save a King

Sometimes a book is beautiful inside and out. This is one of those books. Since I started reading Rachel Hauck's books again last year I really love how she develops deep, flawed yet lovable characters. I loved the message of worth, grace and hope in this story. These characters feel real and you just want them to win at life. Her stories have a touch of supernatural influence that is so special, and it adds a great quality to the story. Loving this series!

Resisting Rose

Image
Resisting Rose takes us to a few years after the end of Lilly's book. Rose is the baby of the family and we get her friends to lovers story.  It is a sweet story, the characters have to realize some things,  grow a little and learn to handle some drama, but it is wrapped up in a neat package that is a trademark for a this author's style. I did feel like the "fight " Rose and Trace had got a little petty for where they were in their relationship. But I get that there had to be some conflict.  The story seemed to really fit these two characters and I enjoy reading it! I recieved a complementary copy of this book from the author.  All opinions are completely my own and honest.

Crazy for You

I might have said this before,  but I love deep Haven.  There is something special about this small fictional community.  In Crazy for you we get two different perspectives of this town. I loved Peter! He is a resident of Deep Haven and related to two of the big families in this town, so we get to see a inside look into the town workings.  I really enjoyed his loyalty and how he really took his responsibilities seriously.  I liked how we got to see him grow from being in a position where he was constantly having to be the peacemaker, to learning how to ....well you'll see. Ronie was definitely his opposite! She came into this community as an outsider and is definitely a fish out of water for a while.  While I do enjoy strong female characters,  I felt like Ronie was a bit over the top with her rudeness.   Perhaps it's just because I love this town so much that I felt defensive of it. This may just be my personal pet peeve,  of having a f...

Another wonderful part of the series! Each one of these stories is unique and holds a special part in this saga. This book has a slow building, slow burn feel but once the peices are in place I couldn't put it down. I really loved Guy and Alvida's story. She was a unique, yet relatable heroine. I cheered for her as she faced her insecurities and enemies. It was so cool to see Guy from her other series being incorporated into this series and getting his own story. I loved his sense of honor and how he grew from the hurt from the past. This book is rich in the history of the time too. Filled with insight into William and I really loved how the book wrapped up. Swoony romance, a satisfying ending. 4.5 stars I recieved a complementary copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are honest and completely my own.

the Lost Castle

Though this book was an exercise in brain power to keep track of three timelines, it is a beautifully written book.  With split time novels you get more than one story,  yet it is linked together in some way. I really enjoy that link to history,  the reminder that there have been centuries of people with hopes and dreams that have lived before us. This was my first time reading this author,  but I will definitely be back for more!

These are the kind of time travel that I just love! I really enjoyed the unique aspect of two people who travel from two different time periods and meet in the past. That was super fun and completely built up the angst at the climax! I wasn't aware when starting this book that it was not CF, however it was perfectly clean with some great chemistry between the two main characters. As to the set up of how the time travel was made possible.....I was a tad uncomfortable with that. And it did dim my ability to fully accept the first part of the story. However I stuck with it and I really did enjoy it! The heroine was okay, and she grew on me over the story. But Theo........win, win, win. A great hero that I adored! 4.5 stars
