Brooke

Brooke and Cord's banter and sparks have definitely grabbed my attention right from their first scene together.
.
I have really admired this series. It tackles several different situations and nations and unique situations of the human trafficking world.
.
This whole series has the grit paired with the intensity that is characteristic to this author's work.
.
I lived seeing the Metcalfe brothers together. Having them all together and the banter between them was one of my favorite things.
Cord. I loved Cord. He was dedicated to his mission and so funny with his internal dialogue and the sharp banter he exchanged with Brooke.
That banter was exactly what this book needed.

Brooke was a unique heroine in a crazy situation that had me holding my breath.
This book deals with some heavy things that happen to the characters. Based on the subject it is understandable. Still it was hard. And so sad. But it is the harsh truth to far too many people in this world.
The ending carried that rapid fire action that is on brand with the Metcalfe series.  Do I wish that I could have seen a little more of Brooke and Cord after the final confrontation. It felt a tad rushed. I would have loved to see them work through some things but I am greedy for more.
4.5 stars
.
A great conclusion to not only a well written series, but an important message to not forget about those who are vulnerable in this world.
I recieved a complementary copy of this book from the publisher and all opinions and comments in this review are honest and completely my own.
